JOB TITLE: COOK I

JOB LOCATION: ANDERSON HALL BLDG 1089

Shall, within the past 2 years, have 2 years experience functioning in every aspect of introductory food preparation, storage, cooking, baking, knife skills, weighing and measuring, production methods, presentation standards, garnishing techniques and serving. Qualifications required include: basic skills in math and reading, ability to follow recipes, communicate, and work closely with others.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to, preparing fruits and vegetables, meats, fish and poultry for cooking; seasoning food, and the baking of pastry products. Contractor cooks will be required to learn military food preparation and serving procedures, recipe conversion, preparation and use of food service administrative forms, sanitation surveillance procedures for food processing and storage facilities, and methods of cooking food and preparing desserts and beverages by using recipes/formulas in accordance with the Armed Forces Recipe Card Service. Cleaning of food preparation equipment and work areas, implementing a “clean as you go” policy.
