Description/Job Summary

Blackstone Consulting, Inc is seeking a Human Resource Specialist to join their team onsite  in San Diego, Ca at their National Healthcare Customer. 

BCI is searching for an HR Generalist for its healthcare security division located in its client’s healthcare facility in San Diego, CA.  The HR Generalist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment and labor relations. The ideal candidate should be comfortable in a healthcare environment and maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Essential Functions

  • Provide full-cycle recruitment support for all open vacancies including posting jobs, prescreening resumes, scheduling of interviews, extending offers, and running background checks
  • Responsible for managing and resolving employee relation matters including discipline action and conflict resolution, including responding to employee relation issues and conducting investigations as appropriate
  • Respond to inquiries regarding BCI’s policies, procedures and collective bargaining agreements
  • Maintain confidential employment data and electronic data utilizing HRIS database
  • Assists corporate benefits team with local benefit management
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Manage employee onboarding and new-hire orientation; assists with HR training
  • Keep management apprised of potential problem areas, employee relations issues, and union activity and recommends solutions as appropriate
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field or equivalent education, training and experience
  • Two to four years of experience in human resource generalist role
  • Demonstrated knowledge of California state employment laws and federal employment law
  • Prior security healthcare experience preferred
  • Prior union experience preferred
  • Ability to relate and communicate with all levels of employees through excellent listening and communication skills that engender trust and support
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office, in particular MS Word and Excel
  • Previous experience with HRIS databases (ADP Vantage)
  • Previous experience with Applicant Tracking System
